Natalia Grace Barnett Hulu Series Starring Ellen Pompeo

Hulu announced that Ellen Pompeo is set to star in a limited series about the Natalia Grace Barnett Ukrainian adoption case. Unbelievable that nearly three years later this case is still ongoing. Kristine and Michael Barnett still face more charges in the coming year, even after having the others dismissed and winning the appeal with the Indiana Supreme Court.  

Natalia Grace remains with her new adopted family, Antwon and Cynthia Mans. Though she would legally be an adult now based on her Ukrainian birth certificate, the question is whether she was born in 2003 or 1989. The Barnett's claim that she was an adult pretending to be a child when they adopted her in 2009, so they changed her age in court. They set her up with state services and put her in an apartment. Later they moved to Canada to be with their son as he attended college in 2013. 

Six years later, in 2019, the police filed charges against Kristine and Michael for neglect of a dependent.  Multiple courts ruled that they could not pursue anything relating to her age because legally she was an adult. Her age had been challenged multiple times and has been upheld. The state appealed all the way to the state Supreme Court where they declined to hear the case. Natalia has a type of dwarfism that has impacted her ability to be mobile. She allegedly needed surgeries that the Barnett's did not provide for her. At the time she therefore could still be considered a dependent under Indiana state law. Which is the basis for the remaining charges Michael and Kristine Barnett still face later in 2022.

There is still a gag order in place, so it's difficult to know where Hulu is getting their sources for the upcoming series. It's been reported that story was optioned to Michael Barnett, so it's likely that the series will be based on their version of events. The question is whether or not that is the most accurate representation of what really happened, not that Hollywood has ever cared about getting things right in any kind of "true story." What will prevail is whatever is the most sensationalized version and get the most attention. 

The story would make a good movie, except a movie has already been made  with this plotline: 2009's Orphan. Is it a coincidence that this movie came out the same time that the Barnett's adopted Natalia? Did they base their story on this movie as many claim, or is this just a case of art imitating life?

She makes $1M selling WEIRD things on the internet

Rebekka Blue, aka Ana Dee, sells weird things on the internet. As far as your imagination can run wild, there's a good chance that the self proclaimed Professional Goddess sells in online. 

She claims to have made over $1 million dollars by selling things like ear wax, toe nails, feet scrapings, bathroom garbage, dirt from her floor, and much more. She's a major social media influencer now on Tik Tok, YouTube, and Instagram with millions of followers.

The saying that one person's trash is another's treasure, is quite literally true in this case. 

Man sued for $10,000 over bad date

How much do you deserve for putting up with a bad date?

Michigan woman QaShontae Short filed a $10,000 lawsuit against Richard Jordan because their date caused her emotional distress. She claims that she's due for compensation because he stood her up on her late mother's birthday. 

She proceeded to take the Zoom court hearing call from the airport and get into a screaming argument with the judge over the definition of perjury. The judge, Herman Marable Jr did his best to explain the situation to Short but she refused to listen. She had not only filed a ridiculous lawsuit that appeared to have no merit, but she had done it with the wrong court. 

The judge was clear with Jordan that if he wanted the case dismissed he would need to file the appropriate motion, which he had not done to this point. He agreed to transfer the case where it belonged in circuit court, but not before putting Short on mute so that he could get a few words in. He awarded Jordan the filing fees because Short had filed with the wrong court and patiently tried to explain what the next steps were to her. Unfortunately, Ms. Short didn't realize she was on mute or look at her phone, and was talking the entire time. 

It remains to be seen what will happen with this case, but sadly for Jordan in appears to remain open for the time being. 

Should people be able to sue for bad dates? If someone catfishes your or maybe lies about their height a little, should you be due some compensation for the strife?

Why you are LAZY and ENTITLED working from home

Elon Musk recently sent an email to employees telling them that if they want to work from home they should find a new job. It's no secret that Musk hates the idea of remote work from home employees. Tesla has notably fired people that worked from home during the shelter in place mandates during the covid-19 pandemic. Clearly his views haven't softened on the idea that people can be productive at home. 

 I've been working from home in multiple roles for over 11 years and I have a very different view. I have found that there's more time to focus and I'm more productive when I work from home. There are way fewer distractions at home than going to an office, where people stop by your desk constantly to chat about the latest gossip and keep you from getting work done. That's not to mention the endless, useless meetings that you get pulled into. I work way more hours and get so much more done at home than I ever did or would at an office cubicle. 

Elon Musk is not the only CEO to be stuck in the dark ages with archaic mindsets about working from home, but he's certainly one of the most vocal public critics on the topic. 

He's a billionaire and has a blind following of minions that will agree with everything he says. Elon Musk has had undeniable success with his investments and companies, but does that mean he's right about everything by default? If there's one positive thing that's come out of the pandemic, it's that companies and people have realized that they can get more work done and have a better quality of life by doing their work at home. Not only that but corporations can save a ton of money on office leases by having their employees at home too, so it's really a win win for all parties. 

 There is a social aspect that many might find a negative. No more office birthday parties with sugary cake and gossip to get you through your work day. However, it's not like you can't find other avenues for social outlets.

What did Fred Savage do? Why was he fired from The Wonder Years?

News broke recently that Fred Savage was fired from The Wonder Years reboot for allegations of misconduct, where he was working as an executive producer and director. Savage has always been more or less the face of The Wonder Years brand, so he must have done something pretty serious to be removed from the show all together right?

This is far from the first accusation against Fred Savage for misconduct on production sets. Cast members like his on screen mother Alley Mills have come out to defend him in the past, but will they this time?

Is Savage just an overworked demanding director with an anger problem who has unreasonable expectations of those that work for him? Or is there something worse going on here?
